Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• 7+ years designing solar PV systems for utility-scale or large commercial projects.
• Experience with PV design software and grid interconnection.
• Strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Knowledge of SA regulations is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead the electrical and mechanical design of solar PV systems, including site layout, module selection, inverters, and mounting structures.
• Develop detailed design documents, including single-line diagrams, wiring schematics, and structural plans.
• Perform energy yield assessments and system performance simulations using industry-standard software.
• Ensure designs comply with all relevant electrical codes, safety standards, and local regulations.
• Collaborate with project management, procurement, and construction teams to ensure seamless project execution.
• Conduct technical due diligence for potential solar projects and provide recommendations.
• Optimize system designs for maximum energy production, reliability, and cost-efficiency.
• Provide technical support during the construction and commissioning phases of projects.
• Stay updated on the latest solar PV technologies, trends, and best practices.
• Mentor and guide junior design engineers and drafters.
