Job summary

Takealot Fulfilment Solutions (TFS) in South Africa is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Logistics team. You will contribute to the delivery network with a microservices architecture and event-driven design, working with Scala, Play Framework, JVM-based stacks, and cloud technologies.

You will own end-to-end solutions, collaborate with business to improve processes, and work on open source platforms in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment at Takealot Group.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science or equivalent; if no degree, equivalent experience accepted.
• 5+ years of production code experience.
• Experience with SQL databases.
• Linux environment development experience.
• Proficient in Java, Scala, Angular, Python or C#.
• Open to diversifying language skill set.

Responsibilities

• Developing and optimizing systems for parcel and food delivery in South Africa.
• Collaborate with business to improve delivery processes.
• Researching and defining logistics solutions.
• Work primarily on open source platforms.
• End-to-end ownership of solutions.
