Job summary

Takealot Fulfilment Solutions (TFS) is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Logistics team in South Africa. You will develop and optimize systems supporting parcel and food delivery across SA, collaborating with business units to improve delivery processes and researching new solutions.

You will work on open source platforms, own end-to-end delivery of solutions, and contribute to a microservices architecture with a modern tech stack including Java/Scala, Play, JVM, Postgres, Google

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science or a similar qualification; equivalent experience considered.
• At least 5+ years of experience writing robust, production-grade code.
• Experience with SQL database systems.
• Experience developing in a Linux environment.
• Proficiency in Java, Scala, Angular, Python or C#.
• Open to diversifying language skill set.

Responsibilities

• Developing and optimizing systems to manage parcel and food delivery across South Africa.
• Collaborate with business to improve processes for more efficient deliveries.
• Research and define solutions within the logistics domain.
• Contribute to open source projects and internal tooling.
• Own end-to-end delivery of solutions from design to deployment.
