Placements24 is seeking a Senior Backend Software Engineer in Bloemfontein to design, develop, and maintain high-performance backend systems powering fintech-grade applications. You will work across the full SDLC, emphasizing Java, Spring Boot, and microservices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 5+ years of professional experience in backend software development using Java.
• Strong proficiency with the Spring framework (Spring Boot, Spring Data, Spring Security).
• Experience designing and building microservices architectures.
• Proficiency in relational database technologies (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and ORM frameworks (e.g., Hibernate/JPA).
• Familiarity with NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra) is a plus.
• Experience with message queuing systems (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ).
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) is advantageous.
• Proficient in using Git and understanding CI/CD principles.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities
