Job summary

Sand Technologies in the UK is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to build an AI-enabled situational awareness and decision-support solution on Microsoft Azure for a major UK water utility. You will join small delivery squads delivering end-to-end features across back-end services, APIs and a user-facing front end.

Your role focuses on reliable, secure, high-performance cloud applications and close collaboration with data scientists, data engineers and other engineers to put AI insights into

Qualifications

• 4+ years of software engineering experience in full-stack roles.
• Experience building production-grade back-end services and front-end UIs.
• Strong API design and security/authentication knowledge.
• Experience deploying on cloud platforms, preferably Azure.

Responsibilities

• Build end-to-end applications: back-end services, APIs and operator-front end.
• Set up CI/CD, environments, testing and observability on Azure.
• Collaborate with data science/data engineering on API contracts and integrations.
• Deploy and run applications on Microsoft Azure ensuring security and low latency.
• Translate architecture decisions into production features and ship them.
• Mentor mid-level engineers to raise technical standards.
