Job summary

Tumaini Consulting is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join a collaborative technology environment in Cape Town. You will contribute across the full software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering with stakeholders to design, implementation and deployment of scalable web applications and APIs.

Your background should include a CS/SE degree, 5–7 years in software development, strong SQL skills (Oracle, PostgreSQL), and experience with Git, AWS, DevOps practices, and Agile

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/SE/IS or related field.
• 5–7 years’ experience in software development.
• Advanced SQL skills with Oracle and PostgreSQL; MS SQL Server advantageous.
• Experience with web applications, APIs, and enterprise software.
• Knowledge of database design, optimisation, and performance tuning.
• Git, source control, and DevOps practices.
• AWS experience.
• Microsoft 365 / Teams and broader Microsoft ecosystem knowledge.
• Jira or similar Agile project management tools.
• Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum and SDLC.
• Proven experience delivering solutions in complex business environments.
• Experience engaging with business stakeholders and requirements gathering.
• Relevant certifications or coding bootcamps advantageous.
