Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a seasoned Senior Site Engineer to oversee coastal development projects in Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal. You will lead on-site construction activities, manage resources, and ensure adherence to plans, schedule, and HSE standards.

The role requires a Civil Engineering qualification and at least seven years of site supervision experience, with coastal or marine project exposure highly regarded.

Qualifications

• National Diploma or B.Tech in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
• 7+ years of site supervision and management of civil projects.
• Coastal/marine environment experience is a plus.
• Professional registration with SACPCMP is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Manage and supervise all on-site construction activities per plans and specs.

You will be responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and high-quality execution of construction works, managing site resources, and coordinating with multiple subcontractors and stakeholders. The ideal candidate is an experienced site engineer with a proven ability to manage complex projects and ensure adherence to safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and supervise all on-site construction activities, ensuring compliance with project plans and specifications.
• Develop and implement detailed construction schedules, resource allocation plans, and progress monitoring systems.
• Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations on the construction site.
• Conduct regular site inspections, quality control checks, and material testing.
• Coordinate with the design team, project managers, and subcontractors to resolve site issues promptly.
• Manage site-based documentation, including daily reports, progress claims, and variations.

Requirements

• A National Diploma or B.Tech in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
• Professional registration with a relevant body (e.g., SACPCMP) is advantageous.
• A minimum of 7 years of experience in site supervision and management of civil engineering construction projects.
• Proven experience in coastal construction or projects involving marine environments is a plus.
