Placements24 is seeking a skilled Geophysicist specializing in seismic data processing to join their technical team in a hybrid role near Benoni. You will interpret subsurface structures and identify potential reservoirs through the analysis of seismic data.
The ideal candidate holds a Master’s degree or PhD in Geophysics with 7+ years of seismic processing experience and proficiency with Petrel, Hampson-Russell, and OpendTect.
Qualifications
- Master’s or PhD in Geophysics or related field.
- 7+ years in seismic data processing within Oil & Gas exploration.
- Proficiency with seismic processing software (Petrel, Hampson-Russell, OpendTect).
Responsibilities
- Process and interpret 2D and 3D seismic data using industry-standard software.
- Apply seismic processing techniques, including migration and attribute analysis.
- Ensure the quality and accuracy of processed seismic data for geological interpretation.
- Collaborate with geologists and reservoir engineers to integrate seismic interpretations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during data processing.
- Contribute to development of new processing workflows and methodologies.
