Placements24 presents an opportunity for a Senior Geoscientist specializing in seismic data interpretation to join a globally recognized energy exploration leader. This fully remote role emphasizes expert interpretation of 2D/3D seismic data, integrating with well logs and geological data, and guiding exploration strategies for international assets.

You will collaborate with geologists, geophysicists and reservoir engineers, mentor juniors, and stay at the forefront of seismic processing

Qualifications

• Master's or Ph.D. in Geophysics, Geology or a related Earth Science.
• Minimum 10 years of hands-on seismic interpretation experience in oil and gas.
• Experience with major seismic interpretation software (Petrel, Kingdom, OpendTect).
• Strong knowledge of seismic processing, structural geology, stratigraphy, and reservoir characterization.
• Proven track record in prospect identification and maturation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for remote collaboration.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced 2D/3D seismic interpretation to map structures and reservoirs.
• Utilize seismic attributes and inversion to characterize reservoir properties.
• Develop velocity models to improve imaging accuracy.
• Integrate seismic data with well logs and cores for subsurface models.
• Collaborate with remote teams using digital platforms.
• Generate exploration prospects and assess geological risks.
• Contribute to exploration strategies and drilling plans.
• Prepare technical reports, maps and presentations for stakeholders.
• Mentor junior geoscientists in seismic interpretation techniques.
• Stay abreast of advances in seismic processing and software.
