Qualifications

• PhD or MSc in Organic Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in process chemistry, focusing on scale-up and optimization.
• Strong knowledge of organic synthesis, reaction mechanisms, and analytical techniques.
• Experience with process safety assessments and GMP principles is advantageous.
• Proficiency in statistical software and DoE.
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize synthetic routes for scalable manufacturing processes.
• Conduct process hazard analyses and implement safety protocols for safe operations.
• Investigate and resolve issues during process scale-up and routine production.

You will lead projects focused on process development, scale-up, and troubleshooting manufacturing challenges. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in organic synthesis, reaction kinetics, and chemical engineering principles, combined with excellent problem-solving skills and a commitment to delivering robust and cost-effective chemical processes within the dynamic scientific landscape of the Eastern Cape .

Key Responsibilities
