Key Responsibilities

• Supervise, train, and mentor a team of sanitation workers, ensuring efficient and effective execution of cleaning and sanitation tasks.
• Develop, implement, and maintain Master Sanitation Schedules (MSS) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all areas of the food processing plant.
• Conduct regular inspections of production lines, equipment, and facility areas to verify sanitation effectiveness and identify potential risks.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant food safety regulations, including HACCP, GMPs, and local health department requirements.
• Manage inventory of cleaning chemicals, detergents, and sanitation equipment, ensuring proper usage, storage, and disposal.
• Oversee the breakdown, cleaning, and reassembly of production equipment as part of the sanitation process.
• Investigate sanitation-related deviations or customer complaints and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate records of all sanitation activities, chemical usage, training, and inspection results.
• Promote a strong safety culture within the sanitation team, ensuring adherence to all safety protocols and proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Liaise with Quality Assurance, Production, and Maintenance departments to ensure integrated food safety and operational excellence.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Sanitation Supervisor or in a similar leadership role within the food processing or manufacturing industry.
• In-depth knowledge of food safety principles, HACCP, GMPs, SSOPs, and relevant regulatory standards.
• Demonstrated experience in developing and managing Master Sanitation Schedules.
• Strong understanding of cleaning chemicals, sanitizers, and industrial cleaning equipment.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to train, motivate, and manage a diverse team effectively.
• Exceptional attention to detail and a systematic approach to problem-solving.
• Physical ability to perform tasks associated with sanitation work, including working in wet environments and lifting.
• Proficiency in English.
• Must be able to work flexible hours, including shifts, weekends, and holidays, as required by production schedules in Kimberley .
