Our client, a reputable food processing company, is seeking a highly experienced and diligent Senior Sanitation Officer to join their operations in Port Elizabeth. This critical role ensures that all food production areas maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene, directly contributing to product safety and regulatory compliance. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing comprehensive sanitation programs, managing a team of sanitation technicians, and conducting regular audits. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of food safety regulations (e.g., HACCP, GMP), experience with various cleaning and sanitizing chemicals and equipment, and excellent leadership skills. Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain master sanitation schedules and procedures for all food processing areas.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in sanitation management within the food processing industry.
• Demonstrated knowledge of HACCP, GMP, and other food safety management systems.
• Experience with cleaning and sanitizing agents, CIP systems, and sanitation equipment.
• Proven leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high hygiene standards.
• Good communication and reporting skills.
• Ability to work shifts and weekends as required by production schedules in Port Elizabeth.
