Job summary

Qualifications

• Degree in Risk Management, Business Administration, or an equivalent qualification.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in risk management, corporate governance, operational management, internal audit, or a related environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide risk prevention, support, operational improvement, and compliance services across multiple departments and entities.
• Strengthen internal controls and support risk-informed decision-making.
• Develop and implement CTRM software solutions and SOPs.
• Manage debtors and insurance frameworks; ensure legal compliance and contractual integrity.
• Collaborate with Group Risk Manager, traders, finance and legal teams across domestic and international activities.

ROLE OVERVIEW: The role combines strategic risk management with operational execution to ensure regulatory compliance, process effectiveness, and continuous improvement across various departments and companies.

The Senior Risk Manager reports to the Group Risk Manager and works closely with the Operational Manager, traders, and the finance and legal departments to strengthen internal controls, foster risk-informed decision-making, and support sustainable business performance.

The Senior Risk Manager provides risk prevention, support, operational improvement, and compliance services to the following departments/businesses:

• Animal Feeds Division
• Trading within 6 independent small business units
• International trading
• International trading: SADC SBUs
• Trading within the SADC regions (Namibia, Zambia, and Tanzania)
• Trading within South Africa
• International procurement and trading of coffee
• Any new business initiative or venture
