Responsabilidades

• Develop and maintain reservoir models using simulation software to predict performance under varying production scenarios.
• Analyze well test data, production history and core data to understand reservoir characteristics.
• Perform material balance calculations and decline curve analysis to estimate reserves and forecast production.
• Develop and recommend optimal development plans, including well placement and injection strategies.
• Evaluate the economic viability of proposed development projects and enhancements.
• Conduct uncertainty analyses and risk assessments for reserves and forecasts.
• Collaborate with geologists to integrate geological models with reservoir simulations.
• Work with production engineers to implement and monitor field development plans.
• Prepare technical reports and presentations for management and stakeholders.
• Stay updated on new technologies and methodologies in reservoir engineering.

About the Role

Our client, a prominent name in the Oil & Gas industry , is seeking a skilled Reservoir Engineer to join their team in Benoni, Gauteng . This position is critical for optimizing hydrocarbon recovery from existing fields and evaluating the potential of new discoveries. The Reservoir Engineer will be responsible for analyzing reservoir performance, developing production strategies, and forecasting future production. You will work collaboratively with geoscientists and production engineers to ensure the efficient and economic exploitation of oil and gas assets. This role offers a dynamic work environment with a blend of office-based analysis and potential site visits, contributing to key decisions in resource management. Key Responsibilities

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering or a related discipline. A Master's degree is a plus.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in reservoir engineering within the Oil & Gas sector .
• Proven experience with reservoir simulation software (e.g., Eclipse, Petrel RE, CMG).
• Strong understanding of reservoir engineering principles, fluid flow in porous media, and hydrocarbon phase behavior.
• Experience in reserves estimation, production forecasting, and economic analysis.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information clearly.
• Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience in the South African or similar regional exploration/production context is advantageous.
• Familiarity with enhanced oil recovery (EOR) techniques.
