Job description

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Reservoir Engineer to contribute to their strategic asset development and production optimization efforts, based in Mahikeng. This role is pivotal in analyzing reservoir performance, forecasting production, and developing optimal field development plans to maximize hydrocarbon recovery. You will leverage advanced simulation techniques and economic evaluations to guide investment decisions. This is a critical position within the Oil & Gas exploration and production sector, offering significant technical challenges and opportunities for impact in the North West province.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and manage reservoir simulation models to predict future performance and evaluate development scenarios.
• Perform material balance calculations and decline curve analysis to assess reservoir potential.
• Recommend well completion strategies, artificial lift methods, and enhanced oil recovery (EOR) techniques.
• Conduct economic evaluations of development projects and ongoing operations.
• Prepare technical reports and present findings and recommendations to management and project teams.
• Collaborate with geoscientists, production engineers, and management to align reservoir strategies with business objectives.
• Mentor junior reservoir engineers and provide technical guidance.

Requirements

• Master’s degree or PhD in Petroleum Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in reservoir engineering, preferably in both exploration and production phases.
• Proficiency with reservoir simulation software (e.g., Eclipse, Techlog) and analysis tools.
• Strong understanding of reservoir engineering principles, fluid properties, and rock mechanics.
• Experience in field development planning and production optimization.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
