Placements24 is seeking a Senior Renewable Energy Analyst for a fully remote role based in South Africa. You will analyze market trends, model project economics (DCF, LCOE), and advise clients across the energy value chain.

You will lead on technology forecasts for solar and wind, assess regulatory environments, prepare reports, mentor junior analysts, and contribute to business development while working from home.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Economics, Finance, Engineering, Environmental Science, or related quantitative field.
• 7+ years of experience in energy market analysis, project finance, or strategic consulting, with a renewable focus.
• Strong financial modeling (DCF, LCOE), market forecasting, and risk assessment.
• In-depth knowledge of solar PV, wind energy, and other renewable technologies.
• Strong understanding of South African energy policy, regulations, and market structures.
• Exceptional analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
• Proficiency in data analysis tools and software (Excel, Python, R, MATLAB).
• Ability to work independently remotely and manage multiple priorities.
• Strong project management and organizational skills.
