Job summary

PAREXEL in South Africa is seeking a Senior Clinical Data Manager to join our team in a permanent, full-time capacity. You will lead data management activities across Phase 1–4 trials, ensuring data integrity and regulatory compliance, while collaborating with internal stakeholders and external vendors on DM deliverables throughout the trial lifecycle.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree in a scientific or healthcare-related field.
• Minimum seven years of data management experience in pharma/biotech or FDA-regulated environments.
• Experience leading data management activities for Phase 1–4 studies and working with CROs/vendors.

Responsibilities

• Lead study-level data management activities with minimal guidance.
• Represent Data Management on cross-functional trial teams.
• Oversee data management by CROs and vendors; build strong relationships.
• Review protocols and provide leadership on data capture strategy and eCRF design.
• Collaborate with CRAs, programmers, study managers, statisticians to develop annotated eCRFs.
• Develop data edit check specs, listings, and study-level DM plans.
• Coordinate EDC system design, testing, and system issue resolution.
• Review study documentation including monitoring plans and SAPs.
• Conduct data reconciliations and external data source reconciliations.
• Lead database upgrades, migrations, UAT, freezes, and locks.
• Maintain study workbooks and DM files; mentor team members.
