Placements24 is seeking a Senior Sustainable Community Architect for a fully remote role in South Africa. You will lead design and implementation of sustainable architectural solutions for community developments, emphasizing ecological integrity, social equity, and economic viability.

Responsibilities include master planning, passive design, renewable energy integration, water management, and engaging with stakeholders in a virtual setting; SAIA registration preferred, and 8+ years of experience

Qualifications

• Professional degree in Architecture from an accredited institution.
• 8+ years of progressive architectural experience focused on sustainable design.
• Leadership of sustainable design projects from concept to completion.
• Knowledge of green building certifications (LEED, Green Star SA).
• Proficiency with Revit and AutoCAD; energy/environmental analysis tools.
• SAIA registration preferred.

Responsabilités

• Lead sustainable architectural projects for community initiatives.
• Incorporate passive design, renewables, water conservation, and waste management.
• Develop master plans and detailed designs that foster community well‑being.
• Research and select sustainable materials and construction tech.
• Collaborate with stakeholders in a virtual environment.
• Mentor junior architects remotely and prepare proposals and docs.
