Placements24 is seeking a Senior VFX Artist to lead real-time visual effects for cinematic sequences and in-game events in a Rustenburg studio. You will shape the look with powerful particle systems, shaders, and simulations in Unreal Engine or Unity, collaborating with directors and artists to achieve a cinematic, cohesive style.

The role requires a track record of high-quality VFX work, strong technical knowledge of engines, and the ability to optimize assets for performance while mentoring

Qualificações

• Minimum 6 years of professional experience as a VFX Artist in the game industry.
• Proven experience creating stunning VFX for cinematics and storytelling sequences.
• Expert proficiency in a major game engine (Unreal Engine or Unity) and its VFX tools (Niagara, Cascade, Shuriken).
• Strong understanding of particle systems, fluid dynamics, shader creation, and material authoring.
• Experience with 3D modelling and animation software (Maya, Blender) for effect elements.
• Ability to create realistic and stylized effects tailored to project requirements.

Responsabilidades

• Create high-quality, real-time visual effects for cinematics and in-game events using Unreal Engine or Unity.
• Design and implement particle systems, shaders, textures, and simulations for effects such as fire, smoke, explosions, magic, and environmental phenomena.
• Collaborate with the cinematic team to define the visual style and technical requirements for effects.
• Optimize VFX assets for performance, ensuring smooth frame rates and efficient memory usage within the game engine.
• Work with art directors and technical artists to develop and maintain VFX style guides and best practices.
• Iterate on effects based on feedback from directors, leads, and art teams.
• Mentor junior VFX artists and contribute to the overall artistic direction of the team.
• Stay current with industry trends and new technologies in real-time VFX creation.
