Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Real Estate Developer to lead end-to-end development initiatives, from site selection through construction and close-out. The role is remote-first, enabling collaboration across dispersed teams while delivering transformative projects primarily in Cape Town, Western Cape.

You will oversee budgets, timelines, and regulatory approvals, coordinating with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure on-time, within-budget execution and high-quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Real Estate Development, Urban Planning, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
• Minimum 7 years of progressive real estate development experience with a strong project portfolio.
• Strong skills in financial modeling, pro forma analysis and development budgeting.
• Knowledge of the real estate development lifecycle, construction practices and contracts.
• Familiarity with zoning regulations and permitting processes in Cape Town area.
• Proven leadership and interpersonal skills; remote work capability.
• Proficiency with project management software and financial analysis tools.

Responsibilities

• Identify and assess new real estate development opportunities, including site selection, feasibility studies, and market analysis.
• Manage all phases of the development process, from initial concept and design to construction and project close-out.
• Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring profitability and adherence to financial targets.
• Oversee and coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and other consultants throughout the project lifecycle.
• Navigate complex zoning laws, permitting processes, and regulatory requirements in Western Cape.
• Negotiate and secure land acquisitions and joint venture agreements.
• Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
• Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with local authorities, community stakeholders, and investors.

Requirements

• Familiarity with zoning regulations and permitting processes, particularly within the Cape Town area.
• Exceptional leadership, project management, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in project management software and relevant financial analysis tools.
• Ability to work effectively in a remote, collaborative environment using digital communication platforms.
