Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive legal advice and representation on all aspects of real estate law, including acquisitions, disposals, leasing, financing, and development.
• Manage and execute complex commercial and residential property transactions from negotiation to finalization.
• Oversee the conveyancing process, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all legal requirements.
• Advise clients on property development projects, zoning regulations, and land use matters.
• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of property-related agreements, including sale agreements, lease agreements, and joint venture agreements.
• Conduct thorough legal due diligence on properties and transactions.
• Represent clients in property-related disputes and litigation, if necessary.
• Mentor and supervise junior attorneys and paralegals within the real estate team.
• Stay abreast of legislative changes, case law, and industry best practices in property law in South Africa .
• Maintain and develop strong client relationships, ensuring exceptional client service.

Requirements

• An LLB degree and admission as an Attorney of the High Court of South Africa.
• A minimum of 8-10 years of post-admission experience, with a significant focus on real estate law.
• Proven expertise in commercial property transactions, conveyancing, and property development law.
• In-depth understanding of property market dynamics and legal frameworks within the Western Cape , specifically Stellenbosch and surrounding areas.
• Exceptional legal research, analytical, and drafting skills.
• Strong negotiation and advocacy abilities.
