Job summary

GAP Consulting in KwaZulu-Natal seeks an experienced Automotive Quality Engineer with 8–10 years in the automotive manufacturing sector. You will lead projects from concept to implementation while ensuring adherence to QMS and regulatory standards.

The role requires a Mechanical Engineering degree, Lead Auditor qualifications (IATF16949 and VDA6.3 are a plus), and experience with APQP/PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans and SPC. Valid driver's license and own transport are essential.

Qualifications

• 8–10 years experience in automotive manufacturing
• 5+ years as Engineer
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Lead Auditor qualified; IATF16949 & VDA6.3 advantageous
• Experience leading projects from conception to implementation
• Strong knowledge of QMS ISO/TS16949, ISO 9001 & ISO 14001
• Proficient with APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans and SPC
• Experience with OEMs (Stellantis, Ford, VW, Hyundai, Nissan) advantageous
• Valid Driver's License and own transport
• References and payslips available on request

Job description

Minimum Requirements:

• Must have a minimum of 8 to 10 years experience within the Automotive Manufacturing Industry of which at least 5 years is as Engineer
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering required
• Lead Auditor Qualified | IATF16949 & VDA6.3 will be highly advantageous
• Experienced in leading projects from conception to implementation
• Strong understanding of Quality Management Systems, ISO/TS16949 | 9001 & 14001 as well as Regulatory Requirements applicable to Automotive Manufacturing
• Proficiency in Quality Tools and Methodologies including APQP | PPAP | FMEA | Control Plans and Statistical Process Control
• Experience with OEMs including Stellantis | Ford | VW | Hyundai and Nissan will be highly advantageous
• Valid Driver's License and own Transport required
