Job summary

impact.com is seeking a Senior QA Engineer for Programmatic XP to own the quality strategy for programmatic publishing. You will be a hands-on senior IC in a single squad, responsible for automation, release-readiness, and raising engineering standards through review and collaboration.

The role focuses on backend/data-heavy testing, including APIs, contracts, SQL, and production signals, with a secondary frontend surface. This position emphasizes real-time decisioning and cross-system quality.

Qualifications

• 6+ years hands-on QA / SDET experience
• API testing depth and contract testing
• Strong SQL querying for data validation
• Event-driven testing with Kafka
• UI automation with modern frameworks (Playwright)
• Monitoring with Grafana
• Practical AI in engineering workflows
• Infrastructure familiarity: Docker, CI/CD, cloud (GCP)

Responsibilities

• Own automated coverage for REST/JSON APIs and high-throughput paths
• Build consumer-driven contract tests and validate upstream/downstream changes
• Validate decisioning logic, authentication, input handling and performance
• Write SQL to interrogate reporting datasets and ensure data integrity
• Test event edges and message contracts in Kafka and schema evolution
• Automate UI coverage for multi-step journeys across legacy and modern frontends
• Define quality signals, CI/CD gates, and release-readiness criteria
• Mentor peers and collaborate with Product and Tech Lead to sharpen criteria
