Job summary

e-Merge IT Recruitment is seeking a senior QA Engineer/SDET to own end-to-end testing across multiple services in a 100% remote, contract position. You will design and implement automated test frameworks, collaborate with developers from day one using TDD, and lead SIT/UAT cycles for complex microservices and AI-powered features.

You will validate REST/GraphQL/gRPC APIs, drive CI/CD integration of tests, and champion quality across the SDLC in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience as a QA Engineer, SDET, or Test Automation Engineer
• Strong experience building automated testing solutions for production software
• Solid understanding of Test-Driven Development (TDD)
• Experience testing microservices and distributed systems
• Strong API testing experience (REST essential)
• Experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines
• Language-agnostic approach to writing test code
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written communication and defect reporting

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve the end-to-end testing strategy across multiple products and services
• Design, build, and maintain automated test frameworks across unit, integration, contract, and end-to-end testing
• Collaborate with developers from day one using Test-Driven Development (TDD)
• Lead System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) cycles
• Design evaluation frameworks for LLM-powered features, including RAG, AI agents, prompt regression, hallucination detection, and grounding validation
• Test complex microservices, distributed systems, and asynchronous event-driven architectures
• Perform API testing across REST, GraphQL, gRPC, and messaging platforms
• Drive bug triage, root-cause analysis, and post-incident reviews
• Champion observability, quality engineering, and continuous improvement throughout the SDLC
