Job summary

Eskom Holdings SOC Ltd seeks a Senior Engineer – Protection based in Gauteng. The role focuses on providing accurate protection relay settings to minimise fault impact and ensure continuity of supply across transmission networks.

The incumbent will develop templates, policies and guidelines, provide technical support to National Control and other stakeholders, and participate in training and development within the Grid Modernization program.

Qualifications

• BSc. Eng./B Eng. Electrical (NQF 8) with 480 credits.
• 4 years of related experience in protection engineering.
• Professional Registration with ECSA as a Professional Engineer.
• Knowledge of transmission protection philosophies and relay settings.

Responsibilities

• Timeous provision and quality control of protection relay settings for transmission and sub-transmission networks.
• Development of templates, policies, philosophies and guidelines.
• Technical support to National Control, Transmission grids and other stakeholders on protection matters.
• Training and development.
