Job summary

J2E Placements is seeking an Accountant for their Stellenbosch offices to manage full accounting across multiple entities and projects. The role requires immediate availability and a strong background in VAT, AFS drafting, and tax calculations.

Based in Stellenbosch, the position expects a candidate with 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience, SAIPA affiliation, and proficiency in BuildSmart and Excel to drive reporting and cash flow management.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent.
• Bachelor's Degree, Diploma, or equivalent qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• SAIPA, with experience in processing VAT, AFS drafting and tax calculations.
• Minimum 3–5 years' accounting experience in a commercial environment (construction, property development, infrastructure, engineering, or renewable energy).
• Experience managing full accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and reporting.
• Proven experience preparing management accounts and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Valid license and own transport.

Responsibilities

• Financial Accounting and General Ledger Management across multiple entities and projects.
• Maintain accurate accounting records and perform monthly bank reconciliations.
• Process and review general ledger transactions with correct expense/revenue allocation.
• Prepare and post month-end journals (accruals, prepayments, depreciation, intercompany).
• Maintain and reconcile balance sheet accounts and resolve reconciling items.
