Key Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of major operational and expansion projects within the winery.
• Manage projects related to vineyard development, cellar upgrades, bottling line enhancements, and new facility construction.
• Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, budgets, timelines, risk assessments, and resource allocation.
• Oversee procurement of equipment, materials, and services, negotiating contracts with suppliers and vendors.
• Manage cross-functional teams, including winemakers, vineyard managers, engineers, and external contractors.
• Ensure projects comply with all relevant health, safety, environmental, and quality standards (e.g., HACCP, food safety).
• Monitor project progress, manage budgets, and provide regular detailed reports to senior management.
• Identify and mitigate project risks, ensuring timely and successful project completion.
• Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among all project stakeholders.
• Contribute to strategic planning and continuous improvement initiatives within winery operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Master's degree or MBA is a plus.
• Minimum of 7 years of project management experience, with a proven track record in operations or capital project management.
• Experience within the wine or beverage industry is highly desirable, demonstrating an understanding of production processes.
• Strong knowledge of project management methodologies and tools (e.g., MS Project, Agile).
• Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously in a demanding environment.
• Strong financial acumen and experience managing project budgets effectively.
• Problem-solving skills and a proactive, results-oriented approach.
• Must be based in or able to commute regularly to Stellenbosch, Western Cape.
