Job summary

De Beers Group is seeking a Senior Project Design Engineer to lead and coordinate the engineering design lifecycle across VUP, C&M and special mining projects. You will ensure technically sound, safe, compliant and value-optimised outcomes aligned to the business plan.

The role manages integration and assurance of designs from concept through detailed design, procurement, manufacture, construction, commissioning and handover in a matrix environment, working with teams, consultants, contractors,

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical discipline.
8-15 years' experience in engineering, project engineering and capital projects within mining, processing or heavy industry.
Experience leading engineering design through concept to commissioning and handover.
Experience coordinating multidisciplinary engineering teams, consultants and contractors.

Responsibilities

Lead engineering design reviews across all project phases.
Verify engineering designs for safety, operability, maintainability and compliance.
Coordinate interfaces between engineering, procurement and construction.
Provide engineering support to procurement, contract award and supplier management.
Manage design verification, validation and approval processes.
