Job summary

Our client in Stellenbosch seeks an experienced Senior Procurement Manager to lead end-to-end procurement for raw materials and packaging within the wine and beverages sector. You will drive strategic sourcing, supplier onboarding, and contract negotiations while optimizing costs and terms.

You will manage supplier relationships, oversee budgets, and implement procurement policies. The role requires 7+ years in procurement, with 3+ years in a senior capacity, and a strong financial acumen.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Economics, or related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in procurement and sourcing, with at least 3 years in a senior role.
• Proven experience in strategic sourcing, contract negotiation, and supplier relationship management.
• Strong understanding of financial principles and cost analysis.

Responsibilities

• Develop strategic sourcing plans for all indirect and direct procurement categories.
• Identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers, ensuring compliance with company standards and ethical practices.
• Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers to achieve cost savings and favorable payment terms.
• Manage existing supplier relationships, fostering strong partnerships and ensuring performance delivery.
• Conduct market analysis to stay informed about industry trends, pricing, and potential risks.
• Oversee inventory management related to procured goods, working closely with operational teams.
• Develop and implement procurement policies and procedures to ensure efficiency and compliance.
• Manage procurement budgets and track spend against category plans.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their needs and ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
• Lead and mentor junior procurement staff.
