Placements24 is seeking a Senior Process Superintendent to manage a coal beneficiation plant in Bloemfontein, Free State. You will lead a large team, optimize operations, and ensure safety and quality standards while driving continuous improvement.

The role requires deep coal processing knowledge, experience in large-scale facilities, and a track record of enhancing performance and reliability in a demanding environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in Chemical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in process operations, with at least 4 years in supervision/management in coal beneficiation or similar mineral processing.
• Strong knowledge of coal washing technologies, including dense medium separation, jigs, and flotation.
• Proven ability to manage large operational teams and drive performance.
• Excellent understanding of process control, instrumentation, and plant maintenance.
• Proficiency in health, safety, and environmental management systems.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems for inventory and production management.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the coal beneficiation plant, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
• Develop and implement strategies to improve yield, reduce operating costs, and enhance product quality.
• Manage and lead a team of shift supervisors, operators, and maintenance personnel.
• Ensure strict adherence to all health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies.
• Monitor KPIs and implement corrective actions as needed.
