About the Role

Our client, a leading name in the Mining and mineral processing industry, is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Process Superintendent to oversee and manage their processing plant operations in Kimberley, Northern Cape . This senior leadership role is responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and optimal performance of all metallurgical processing activities, including crushing, grinding, flotation, and associated circuits. The successful candidate will lead a team of process engineers, operators, and maintenance personnel, driving continuous improvement initiatives and maintaining high standards of production and quality. A strong background in mineral processing, operational management, and safety leadership is essential for this position.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of the mineral processing plant operations to achieve production targets, quality standards, and cost efficiencies.
• Ensure the implementation and adherence to all health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies and procedures within the plant.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the process engineering and operations teams, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Monitor plant performance metrics, analyze data, and identify opportunities for process optimization and troubleshooting.
• Manage the plant's operating budget, ensuring effective cost control and resource allocation.
• Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, and metallurgy departments to ensure plant reliability and operational integrity.
• Implement and manage process improvement initiatives to enhance recovery rates, reduce reagent consumption, and improve overall plant efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and company standards.
• Oversee the safe operation and maintenance of all processing equipment.
• Prepare operational reports and present findings to senior management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• A minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in mineral processing operations, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or management role within the Mining sector.
• Proven experience in managing complex mineral processing plants, including crushing, grinding, and beneficiation circuits.
• Strong understanding of metallurgical principles, process control, and optimization techniques.
• Demonstrated leadership capabilities with experience in managing diverse operational teams.
• Excellent knowledge of health, safety, and environmental management systems in a mining context.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Effective communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
• Familiarity with process simulation and data analysis tools.
• Ability to work flexible hours and be available for operational support as needed.
