Placements24 is seeking a Process Safety Engineer to join our client’s operations in Klerksdorp. The role focuses on maintaining top safety standards across chemical processes, conducting risk assessments, and developing procedures in a rigorous industrial setting.

You will oversee PHAs, support safety training, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive continuous improvement in safety culture and practices.

Qualifications

• Degree in Chemical Engineering or related safety-focused discipline.

Responsibilities

• Conduct Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs), including HAZOP, What-If, and FMEA studies.
• Develop and implement robust safety management systems and procedures.
• Investigate incidents and near misses, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with relevant safety legislation and industry best practices.
• Provide expert advice and training on process safety to engineering and operations staff.
• Oversee the implementation of safety measures and monitor their effectiveness.
