Placements24 is seeking a Senior Process Engineer for our client in Vereeniging, Gauteng. The role leads process improvements, drives operational excellence, and provides technical leadership across multiple chemical lines.

The ideal candidate has extensive chemical process design, troubleshooting, and project management experience, with a focus on safety and efficiency in a demanding industrial environment. Relocation to Vereeniging is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering required.
• Minimum 7 years' experience in industrial chemical process engineering.
• Experience in process design, simulation (Aspen HYSYS), and troubleshooting.
• Strong knowledge of chemical plant operations and equipment.
• Proven project management skills with capital projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage process engineering projects from conception to completion.
• Optimize existing chemical processes to improve yield, reduce costs, and enhance product quality.
• Develop P&IDs, mass and energy balances, and equipment specifications.
• Conduct PHAs and implement safety improvements.
• Provide technical support to production teams and junior engineers.
• Troubleshoot complex operational issues and implement sustainable solutions.
• Evaluate and recommend new technologies and process modifications.
• Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage process engineering projects from conception to completion.

• Conduct process hazard analyses (PHAs) and implement necessary safety improvements.
• Provide technical support and guidance to production teams and junior engineers.

• Ensure compliance with all relevant environmental, health, and safety regulations.
• Monitor key performance indicators and generate regular process performance reports.
