Placements24 is seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer for a Centurion, Gauteng facility to lead design initiatives and advance next‑generation machinery in an on‑site role.

You will mentor engineers, perform advanced analyses (stress, thermal, vibration, fatigue) with simulation tools, and drive prototyping, testing and validation.

Master’s or PhD in Mechanical Engineering with 10–12 years in industrial equipment; expertise in SolidWorks Premium, CATIA, FEA and CFD.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Mechanical Engineering.
• 10–12 years of experience in mechanical design and leadership of complex projects.
• Expert in SolidWorks Premium and CATIA; proficient in FEA/CFD.

Responsibilities

• Lead conceptualization, design and development of large-scale, complex mechanical systems.
• Perform advanced stress, thermal, vibration and fatigue analyses using simulation tools.
• Provide technical leadership and mentor a team of engineers and designers.
• Create and maintain CAD models, drawings, specs, and BOMs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (R&D, manufacturing, QA, PM) for product realization.
• Oversee prototyping, testing and validation to verify design integrity.
• Monitor industry trends and contribute to technical roadmaps.
