Qualifications

• Master's degree or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in automotive powertrain engineering, with a strong focus on engine design and calibration.
• In-depth knowledge of thermodynamics, combustion principles, and emissions control systems.
• Proficiency with powertrain simulation software (e.g., GT-POWER, AVL FIRE) and calibration tools (e.g., INCA).
• Experience with hybrid powertrain systems and/or electric vehicle powertrains is a significant advantage.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and integration of advanced automotive powertrain systems, including engines, transmissions, and associated control strategies.
• Conduct performance analysis, simulation, and testing of powertrain components and complete systems to meet stringent targets for power, efficiency, and emissions.
• Develop and calibrate engine control units (ECUs) using industry-standard tools and methodologies.
• Oversee the validation process for new powertrain technologies, ensuring compliance with global regulatory standards.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including vehicle integration, chassis, and electronics, to ensure optimal powertrain performance within the vehicle context.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex powertrain issues encountered during development and testing phases.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the technical growth of the powertrain team.
• Stay abreast of emerging powertrain technologies, including electrification and alternative fuels, and assess their applicability.
• Prepare technical reports and present findings to management and project stakeholders.
