Job summary

Qualifications

• Minimum 5-10 years in power electronics design and development.

• Strong knowledge of converter topologies: Buck, Boost, Flyback, Forward, Full-Bridge, LLC, Bi-directional.

A leading technology-focused engineering organisation is seeking a Senior Power Electronics Engineer to join its research and development team. This role offers the opportunity to drive the design, development, testing, and optimisation of advanced DC-DC and AC-DC power conversion systems using cutting-edge Silicon Carbide (SiC) and Gallium Nitride (GaN) technologies.

The successful candidate will lead projects from concept through to production, taking ownership of topology selection, control loop development, magnetic design, PCB development, laboratory validation, and product certification.

Education:

• Bachelor's Degree or BTech in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or Power Electronics.
• Master's Degree in Power Electronics, Energy Systems, or a related field will be advantageous.

Job Experience & Skills Required:

• Minimum 5-10 years' experience in power electronics design and development.
• Proven experience developing DC-DC and AC-DC power conversion products from concept to production.
• Strong knowledge of converter topologies including Buck, Boost, Flyback, Forward, Full-Bridge, LLC Resonant, and Bidirectional DC-DC Converters.
• Hands-on experience with Silicon Carbide (SiC) and/or Gallium Nitride (GaN) power devices.
• Expertise in control loop design, compensation techniques, small-signal modelling, and stability analysis.
• Experience with magnetic component design, including transformers, inductors, EMI filters, and common-mode chokes.
• PCB design and hardware development experience within high-power and high-frequency applications.
• Proficiency in LTspice, MATLAB/Simulink, and Altium Designer.
• Experience within renewable energy, battery energy storage systems (BESS), electric mobility, telecommunications, or industrial power conversion environments.
• Strong troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and technical problem-solving skills.
• Ability to lead development projects and mentor junior engineers.
