Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Advanced Industrial Controls & Automation Technician for our client in Upington, Northern Cape. You will maintain PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, and industrial networks, and lead system upgrades to improve uptime and efficiency.

The ideal candidate has a diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics, 5+ years in automation, and strong skills in PLC/HMI programming, network protocols, and reading schematics.

Qualifications

• Required: National Diploma or Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.
• Experience in industrial automation and control systems is essential.
• Proficient in PLC programming and HMI/SCADA development.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, and networks.
• Develop, test, and modify PLC programs and HMI screens.
• Perform preventive maintenance to maximize uptime on control systems.
