Job summary

CHEP UK Ltd. in South Africa seeks a skilled Maintenance Technician to join the Operations team at our Kraaifontein site. You will drive preventative and corrective maintenance, support equipment reliability, and lead maintenance planning in a fast-paced plant environment.

The role requires a qualifed Millwright, 5+ years in plant maintenance, strong electrical and mechanical skills, and PLC/robotics experience. Shift work and collaboration with internal/external teams are essential.

Qualifications

Qualified Millwright.
Minimum N4 qualification.
Minimum 5 years' plant maintenance experience.
Strong electrical and mechanical maintenance experience.
Experience working in a manufacturing, production, or industrial environment.
Ability to work effectively in a shift-based operation.
Advantageous Experience PLC maintenance. Siemens, Allen Bradley, Delta or Festo systems.
Robotics experience, including YASKAWA.
Experience leading teams within a unionized environment.

Responsibilities

Drive preventative and corrective maintenance activities across the plant.
Ensure machinery and equipment operate safely and efficiently.
Minimize downtime through effective troubleshooting and maintenance planning.
Provide technical leadership and support to Technical Operatives.
Ensure compliance with safety standards, company policies, and the OHS Act.
Manage maintenance spares, repairs, and workshop requirements.
Support continuous improvement initiatives that improve reliability and operational performance.
