Placements24 invites a Senior Pipeline Integrity Engineer to join its asset integrity team in a remote role serving South African pipeline operations, with focus on Nelspruit region. You will lead integrity programs, oversee ILI campaigns, assess corrosion threats, and guide repairs and rehabilitation projects.

The role requires a Bachelor's in a relevant engineering discipline and 7+ years in pipeline integrity within Oil & Gas, with strong regulatory knowledge and leadership abilities for

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or related discipline.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in pipeline integrity management within Oil & Gas.
• In-depth knowledge of pipeline materials, welding, corrosion mechanisms, and failure modes.
• Experience with inspection techniques (MFL, UT, guided wave).
• Proficiency in risk assessment methodologies and pipeline integrity software.
• Strong understanding of codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage pipeline integrity management systems (PIMS) per industry standards (ASME B31.8, API 1160).
• Conduct risk-based assessments to identify and prioritize threats.
• Plan and oversee ILI campaigns including tool selection, data analysis, and reporting.
• Evaluate corrosion threats and mitigation strategies.
• Manage pipeline coatings, cathodic protection, and anomaly digs.
• Develop repair strategies and oversee repairs and rehabilitation projects.
• Ensure compliance with national and international pipeline safety regulations.
• Investigate incidents and provide root cause analysis.
• Develop and review technical specs for materials, welding, and construction.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to company standards.
