Placements24 is recruiting a Senior Chemical Engineer for a leading pharmaceutical company in Pretoria. The role focuses on supervising and optimizing chemical processes for drug substance manufacturing within a highly regulated GMP environment.

The ideal candidate holds an MSc/PhD in Chemical Engineering with 8+ years in pharma, expert in process scale-up, validation, and regulatory guidelines, and strong leadership skills for cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Must have MSc or PhD in Chemical Engineering with pharma focus.
• 8+ years hands-on chemical engineering in pharma industry preferred.
• Strong GMP/FDA regulatory understanding and validation experience.

Responsabilités

• Design, develop, and optimize pharmaceutical process technologies for drug substance manufacturing.
• Lead process validation activities ensuring GMP compliance.
• Troubleshoot complex process issues during manufacturing.
• Collaborate with R&D, QA, and Production for tech transfer.
• Drive process improvements to boost yield, efficiency and quality.
• Produce and maintain batch records, SOPs, and validation reports.
• Conduct risk assessments and mitigation for process-related hazards.
• Keep up-to-date with pharma manufacturing trends and regulations.
• Mentor junior engineers and share technical expertise.
