• Proven track record in developing a range of dosage forms, with expertise in at least one area (oral solids, sterile injectables).
• Experience with GMP manufacturing and regulatory requirements for drug product development.

Responsabilidades

About the Role

Our client, a dynamic and growing pharmaceutical company, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Pharmaceutical Formulation Scientist to join their innovative team in Mossel Bay. This role is crucial for the development of novel drug delivery systems and the optimization of existing pharmaceutical formulations. You will lead formulation development projects, from pre-formulation studies through to the development of stable, effective dosage forms. This position requires a blend of hands‑on laboratory work and strategic thinking, contributing to the company's pipeline of advanced pharmaceutical products. While offering a hybrid work model, this role will require a significant presence in the Mossel Bay laboratory to conduct experimental work, manage equipment, and collaborate closely with bench scientists and project managers. You will be instrumental in translating scientific discoveries into tangible pharmaceutical products that meet patient needs and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and optimization of various pharmaceutical dosage forms (e.g., oral solids, liquids, injectables, topicals).
• Conduct pre-formulation studies, including physicochemical characterization of drug substances and excipients.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in pharmaceutical formulation development.
• Proven track record in developing a range of dosage forms, with expertise in at least one specific area (e.g., oral solid dosage, sterile injectables).
• Strong understanding of material science, drug delivery principles, and GMP manufacturing.
• Hands‑on experience with laboratory equipment for formulation development and characterization.
• Excellent data analysis, problem‑solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
