About the Role

Our client, a dynamic and growing pharmaceutical company, is seeking a Senior Pharmaceutical Development Chemist for their Mahikeng operations. This hybrid role allows for both essential on-site laboratory work and remote flexibility. The Senior Development Chemist will focus on the synthesis, characterization, and optimization of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) and intermediates. You will be instrumental in advancing drug discovery projects through efficient and scalable chemical synthesis routes. This role requires a strong background in synthetic organic chemistry and a keen understanding of pharmaceutical development processes. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to bring new chemical entities from early discovery through to clinical development stages, ensuring robust and reproducible chemistry.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and execute synthetic routes for small molecule APIs and intermediates.
• Optimize chemical processes for scalability, yield, purity, and cost-effectiveness.
• Characterize synthesized compounds using various analytical techniques (e.g., NMR, MS, HPLC, IR).

Requirements
