Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Pharmaceutical Quality Control Analyst for its Centurion facility in Gauteng. The role focuses on leading QC testing, method development, and ensuring GMP/GLP compliance to uphold product quality.

You will mentor junior staff, oversee analytical procedures (HPLC/GC/Karl Fischer), review data, and support audits and batch release decisions in a modern laboratory environment.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of experience in a pharmaceutical QC lab.
• Proficient with pharmacopeias (USP/EP/BP) and regulatory guidelines.
• Experience troubleshooting analytical methods and equipment failures.
• Strong GMP/GLP knowledge and data integrity skills.
• Excellent documentation and cross-department collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Perform diverse analytical tests on raw materials, in-process samples and finished products (HPLC, GC, UV-Vis).
• Develop, validate and implement analytical methods per pharmacopeial standards.
• Interpret results, investigate OOS results, and document findings.
• Maintain GLP/GMP-compliant records and manage data integrity.
• Calibrate, maintain and troubleshoot lab equipment.
• Review data and support batch release decisions; contribute to audits.
• Mentor junior analysts and support continuous QC improvements.
• Lead in trainings on analytical techniques and regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate across departments to ensure product quality.
