Job summary

Placements24 seeks a Senior Penetration Tester to join our cybersecurity team in Stellenbosch. You will conduct in-depth security assessments of applications, networks, and infrastructure, and provide actionable remediation guidance.

The role supports a hybrid work model blending on-site and remote collaboration for a dynamic security program. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of hands-on pentesting experience, OSCP/CEH/GPEN preferred, and strong skills with Metasploit, Burp Suite, Nmap, and Kali

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
• Certifications like OSCP, CEH, GPEN are highly preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years hands-on experience in penetration testing and vulnerability assessment.
• Proficiency with a wide range of penetration testing tools (e.g., Metasploit, Burp Suite, Nmap, Kali Linux).
• Strong understanding of network protocols, operating systems, web application security, and OWASP Top 10.
• Excellent report writing and communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate technical findings to diverse audiences.
• Experience with scripting or programming languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for developing custom testing tools is a plus.

• Identify and exploit vulnerabilities in target systems using a variety of manual techniques and automated tools.
• Develop detailed and accurate reports outlining findings, risk assessments, and remediation recommendations.
• Collaborate with development and IT teams to guide the remediation of identified vulnerabilities.
• Stay current with the latest exploitation techniques, attack vectors, and emerging security threats.
• Mentor junior penetration testers and contribute to the continuous improvement of testing methodologies and tools.
