Job summary

Craven Cottage CC in Paarl, Western Cape, is seeking a skilled payroll professional to manage payroll processing for diverse clients. You will ensure statutory compliance, handle SARS queries, and support registrations and de-registrations, while providing guidance to the Payroll Team.

The role requires 3–4 years of payroll experience in an audit/accounting environment, strong Microsoft Office skills, and familiarity with payroll software such as Simplepay, Payspace, or Sage One.

Qualifications

• Matric is required.
• A relevant 3 Year Diploma, or similar qualification will be advantageous.
• On-the-job training available and pursuing part-time qualifications encouraged.
• 3–4 years’ payroll experience in an audit/accounting environment.
• Understanding of regulatory requirements for Payroll, UIF, WCA and SARS.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; ability to work with payroll software.

Responsibilities

• Process payroll for a diverse client base and statutory submissions.
• Ensure statutory compliance for client payroll matters.
• Address SARS queries, correspondence, verifications, and audits.
• Register/deregister payroll-related registrations as needed.
• Assist clients with payroll debt management interventions.
• Provide admin support and assist the Payroll Team as required.
• Train and guide Payroll Team and support daily operations with Team Leader.
