Job summary

Highway Hospice is seeking a Registered Nurse for our In-Patient Unit (IPU) and Home-Based Care (HBC) teams in Durban. The role focuses on delivering comprehensive palliative care, leadership in care planning, and ensuring continuity of 24-hour service. Applicants should have 10+ years post-qualification nursing experience and active SANC registration.

Preference will be given to candidates with a post-graduate qualification in Palliative Care. A valid SA driver’s license is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Nursing qualifications must include Diploma or Degree in General Nursing.
• Active South African Nursing Council registration as a Registered Nurse.
• Palliative care experience is required.
• Minimum of 10 years of post-qualification nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality palliative care in IPU and Home-Based Care.
• Provide psychosocial support to patients, families, and caregivers.
• Develop and promote evidence-based palliative care protocols.
