Qualifications

• Registered nurse qualification and current registration with the relevant Nursing Council.
• ICU training and/or proven ICU nursing experience.
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast paced environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to delivering high quality patient centered care.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill and high-dependency patients.
• Continuously monitor and assess patients vital signs, condition, and response to treatment.
• Administer prescribed medications, intravenous therapies, and blood products accurately and safely.
• Operate and monitor specialized ICU equipment, including ventilators, cardiac monitors, infusion pumps, and life-support systems.
• Recognize and respond promptly to medical emergencies and changes in patient conditions.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
• Maintain accurate and up to date patient records and clinical documentation.
• Educate and support patients and their families regarding treatment plans, recovery and on-going care needs.
• Ensure adherence to infection prevention and control protocols.
• Advocate for patient safety, dignity, and quality care at all times.
