Job summary

Sabenza IT & Recruitment seeks a Project Manager (Networks/Telecommunications) in Cape Town to lead cross-functional network projects, manage suppliers, and ensure on-time, on-budget delivery across FTTH/FTTB implementations and related fixed wireless builds.

You will coordinate internal stakeholders, track risks, enforce budget controls, and drive continuous improvement in deployment processes, while translating technical concepts for non-technical partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
• Project Management Diploma.
• 5+ years’ experience in project management, focused on network infrastructure and implementation.
• Experience with FTTH/FTTB build projects is required, with solid technical understanding.
• Experience with Fixed wireless builds is required.
• Working knowledge of network monitoring and project management software.
• Experience managing complex projects from initiation to completion, including planning, scheduling, risk and budget management.
• Strong vendor relationship management and cross-functional collaboration.
• Proven ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Build and manage relationships with external suppliers and vendors.
• Manage communication between internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
• Facilitate the implementation process of all transmission links.
• Manage the order and approval process for new services.
• Establish implementation management processes and tracking mechanisms.
• Ensure internal and external deadlines are met for cross-functional implementations.
• Act as the main point of contact for Technology and Operations on new transmission or increased capacity requirements.
• Continuously review capacity, supplier performance and pricing across transmission routes.
• Recommend self-build options where supply is limited or unreliable.
• Manage cross-functional projects, ensuring team tactics align with project deliverables.
• Track project statuses, dependencies and risks, optimising resource and time allocation.
• Facilitate cross-functional alignment between technology, systems and operations through MOS and partnership agreements.
• Consolidate functional reporting and tracking on projects.
• Manage contract administration, including expirations, renewals and notice periods.
• Maintain the Master circuit and hosting system.
• Manage and track FTTH, FTTB and Fixed build projects from initiation, scope to completion.
• Work daily across network and cross functional systems, using monitoring and project management tools.
