Job summary

Hire Resolve is seeking a Senior Network and Security Engineer to join their Sandton team. The role focuses on owning network, firewall, Azure connectivity, monitoring, and datacentre operations in a security‑critical environment.

You will lead FortiGate firewall operations, Extreme Networks switching, and Azure networking, while coordinating with stakeholders to ensure documentation, incident response, and disaster recovery readiness.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of enterprise network engineering experience.
• Strong FortiGate firewall administration, policy management, and VPN skills.
• Experience with Extreme Networks switching environments.
• Solid routing and switching knowledge (VLANs, STP, OSPF, BGP, VRRP).
• Solid documentation discipline and ability to communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain LAN, WAN, WLAN, and datacentre networks.
• Configure and maintain VLANs, trunks, STP, redundancy, and L2 designs.
• Troubleshoot routing (OSPF/BGP) and high availability.
• Configure, manage, and monitor FortiGate firewalls and VPNs.
• Azure networking and hybrid cloud connectivity support.
• Monitor network health and respond to incidents using enterprise tools.
• Document standards, runbooks, and network configurations.
