Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to strengthen the IT infrastructure in Richards Bay. You will design, implement, and maintain a secure, high-performance network, handling architecture, security protocols, and complex troubleshooting to ensure uptime and data integrity.

Key responsibilities include configuring routers, switches, and firewalls, enforcing security policies, monitoring performance, leading upgrades and disaster recovery, and providing Tier 3 support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, IT, or related field.
• 6+ years of experience in network engineering and administration.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, routing protocols, and network services (DNS, DHCP).
• Hands-on experience with enterprise firewalls and IDS/IPS systems.
• Certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, or CISSP are highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and manage complex network infrastructures (routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs).
• Enforce robust network security policies and protocols.
• Monitor performance and optimize network throughput.
• Lead upgrades, migrations, and disaster recovery initiatives.
• Provide Tier 3 support for network incidents and collaborate with IT teams.
